Test-trenching was carried out to the rear of a lodge dwelling at Rathnew, Uisneach, in advance of development. The site is located within the zone of archaeological potential for an ancient road. Four trenches were excavated on the site. Modern inclusions including gravel, brick and slate were found in the trenches. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
