This site was one of five sites excavated in Toar Bog, Co. Westmeath, as part of the 2005 Bord na Mona archaeological mitigation programme. This site was initially identified as a tertiary togher consisting of brushwood and occasional twigs recorded in opposing drain faces (WM-RGT025). The cutting was laid out over the drain to encompass the site visible in both drain faces. Excavation revealed the site to be a small brushwood platform measuring 3m by 4m. The elements were closely spaced and laid as a single layer. The wood species identified were alder, hazel and willow. Several elements had tool-marked ends cut to chisel points that were flat in character.
