This site was one of five sites excavated in Toar Bog, Co. Westmeath, as part of the 2005 Bord na Mona archaeological mitigation programme. This site was initially identified during the 2000 Peatland Survey as an irregular deposit of seven pieces of brushwood in the drain face (WM-RGT018). Excavation revealed that the site was a small brushwood platform measuring 1.1m by 3.4m. The wood species identified were birch, oak and willow/poplar. Several elements had toolmarks made by concave/slightly concave metal axes and the majority were cut to wedge points.
