This site was one of five sites excavated in Toar Bog, Co. Westmeath, as part of the 2005 Bord na Mona archaeological mitigation programme. The site was recorded at two locations in the drain face and on the field surface during the 2000 Peatland Survey as a north-east/south-west-oriented tertiary togher consisting of a compact arrangement of light brushwood, occasional twigs and a single roundwood (WM-PBY131). Excavation revealed the last remains of a brushwood and roundwood trackway partially exposed on the field surface. The site was composed of scattered, transversely laid roundwood and brushwoods with occasional fragments of longitudinal brushwoods. It appeared that the excavated site represented the final remains of the trackway, the upper surfaces having been removed by the BnM production process. It measured 1.75m in width and was traced for a length of 8.5m.
