The excavations at Site 3, Ardnaglew, were carried out in advance of the N6 Kilbeggan–Kinnegad road scheme. The site consisted of two burnt-stone spreads, which were situated on a steep sloping hill, adjacent to a stream. The stream appeared to have been recently rerouted and dredged in places and its banks seem to have been recut by machine.
