Groundworks for a new extension to an old house in Emmet Street, Dungarvan, were monitored. The house is part of a single-storeyed terrace, probably built shortly before 1775. The site is outside the late medieval (early 17th century?) walled town but close to a corner bastion. No archaeological remains pre-dating the terraced house were found; the site was probably cultivated through the medieval period.

Editor’s note: Although this licence was issued during 2005, the report on the work was not received in time for inclusion in the bulletin of that year.
