Monitoring was undertaken between 5 September and 14 October 2005 in advance of exploratory mining. The area was initially covered with a layer of grass and heather followed by a layer of peat, all of which varied in depth from 0.4 to 1.5m, depending on the topography of the ground. No archaeological features were uncovered.
