Pre-construction testing was carried out to ascertain the nature of anomalies previously highlighted by geophysical survey. Only one of the anomalies proved to be of possible archaeological significance. It comprised a curvilinear feature, exposed for a length of 7m east–west, together with at least one associated pit. The exact nature and extent of the features was not clear and no datable finds were recovered to place them within a specific time-frame without further investigation. This area of the development will not be impacted upon and the features will be preserved in situ.
