The site is located at the eastern edge of Killenaule, just outside the zone of archaeological potential for the town. Twenty-two test-trenches were excavated to a maximum length of 50m, a maximum width of 11m and a maximum depth of 0.6m. The stratigraphy generally consisted of mid-brown topsoil overlying orange/brown sandy clay subsoil with frequent small/medium stone inclusions. No finds or features of archaeological significance were revealed in any of the trenches.
