Monitoring of drainage trench excavation took place between 15 and 18 March 2005 at Glebe, Donohill, Co. Tipperary. The trench excavation covered an overall length of 130m. The works respected the site of a medieval church by avoiding its general location. Excavation achieved depths of between 1m and 1.8m. The trench’s stratigraphy consisted of 0.2–0.35m of topsoil, beneath which the remainder comprised orange, gravelly, loose, naturally occurring subsoil. Nothing of an archaeological nature was encountered.
