Monitoring of a single-house development took place between 14 and 16 June 2005. The scheme was situated adjacent to the recognised medieval urban zone of Cashel and encompassed an area of c. 3400m2. The site’s soil stratigraphy consisted of 0.2–0.45m of topsoil and sod layer, beneath which the natural subsoil was composed of yellow silty clay, up to 0.1m in depth. The surface underlying the subsoil consisted entirely of a shale-based stone, known as slig. There were no negative impacts to heritage considerations.
