Testing was carried out on the site of a proposed house extension at Beakstown, Holycross, which was within the constraint area of a weir (possible). The monument is located on the River Suir, c. 60m south-east of the extension site. Two trenches were opened on the site. They revealed nothing that could in any way be associated with the nearby weir.
