This development site on the outskirts of Thurles, almost sixteen acres in extent, was tested due to the fact that a portion of it lay within the zone of archaeological potential for a possible enclosure. This enclosure was noted as a cropmark on an aerial photo but was not visible on the ground. Four trenches were dug within the zone of potential for the archaeological site that impinged on the development area. All trenches measured 20m by 1m. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted in the testing. This site was not included in the published inventory (Farrelly and O’Brien 2002, 458).
