Following earlier work carried out in 2004 (Excavations 2004, No. 1540), monitoring was then required of the laying of a pipeline along the southern side of the all-weather pitch at Knocknarea National School. Work took place in November and December. By now a new contractor was involved and the line of the sewage pipeline was changed to where the existing pipeline was running north through the material of the all-weather pitch, clearly material devoid of archaeology. A path was laid going west from the all-weather pitch to the playing field and dressing rooms; this skirted along the north side of SMR 14:195, variously called an ‘enclosure’, a ‘cairn’, ‘mound’ or ‘glacial kame’. This work did not need to be monitored and there was no archaeological involvement in this site in 2005.
