The site of the proposed development is just outside Ballaghadereen, Co. Roscommon. It is to consist of a single house, access, septic tank and percolation area. The site is near a partially preserved ringfort, situated on the other side of the road. Four trenches, measuring 10m by 1m, were excavated across the site in February 2005. All were excavated to a depth of 0.45–0.55m. No evidence of archaeological activity was revealed.
