The site of the proposed development at Warren/Drum is located on the grounds of the Old Convent in Boyle, Co. Roscommon, fronting on to the old Dublin–Sligo Road. The site is near Boyle Abbey, with the Boyle River located between the two sites. The proposed development is to consist of a commercial/office building, twelve dwelling houses in three terrace blocks, access, services and landscaping. Seven trenches (of the original eight proposed) were excavated across the site. A large portion of the site, namely house sites 1–7, could not be tested at this time due to the presence of an old school building. All trenches were 1m wide and were excavated to a depth of 0.5–1.1m. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
