An excavation in advance of road development was carried out at Kilcrow, Clontibret, Co. Monaghan, as part of the N2 Castleblayney–Clontibret road realignment scheme. The site encompassed the foundations and associated features of a demolished post-medieval/modern farmhouse, which was shown on the 1936 OS map. The foundations of three walls of the structure were identified with the probable remains of three internal floor surfaces. The foundations consisted of stone rubble and loose mortar bonding. Numerous linear features were identified associated with the site, which were identified as post-medieval field drains, along with the foundations for a possible bawn wall.
