This site was located within Contract 1 (Dunboyne to Dunshaughlin) of the proposed M3 Clonee to North of Kells motorway scheme and excavated in August 2005. Two cremation pits were identified adjacent to the River Tolka by Robert O’Hara during the assessment phase of works conducted in 2004 (Excavations 2004, No. 1191, 04E0489). During the resolution phase of works a large area, 30m by 100m, was stripped of topsoil. The two cremation pits were re-exposed. The first measured 0.7m by 0.8m and had a maximum depth of 0.05m and the second measured 0.4m by 0.41m and had an average depth of 0.14m. Aside from the cremated bone, no additional finds were recovered. This site lay immediately adjacent to a fulacht spread at Bracetown 1 (see No. AD4, Excavations 2005, A017/006).
