An assessment of the site was required prior to granting of planning permission to build a single-storey extension to a premises at High Street, Trim.

Two trenches were excavated on the site. A boggy layer was at the south end of Trench 1; it may have been material that had accumulated in a pool or pond. Three stone features were uncovered; two of these were parallel walls running east–west across the site, while the third was a possible drain that was tied into one of the walls at right angles. The function of the two walls was not clear, but there was no evidence to suggest a medieval date for them.
