Two test-trenches were excavated within the proposed development site. The site had been considerably disturbed during the post-medieval period as the natural sand and gravels were exposed at a depth of 0.2m in both trenches. Evidence of post-medieval dumping and disturbance was partially exposed to the north-west of the site. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed or identified.
