Monitoring was carried out as part of the redevelopment at the site of the Navan Carpets factory, Navan, Co. Meath. The monitoring programme took place intermittingly over a two-month period from July to August 2005. A 30-tonne Hitachi track machine was used to excavate the site, with the spoil taken off-site by dump trucks. The stratigraphy consisted of concrete and rubble overburden overlying subsoil, basal gravels and sand. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed and no artefacts were recovered.
