A survey took place of a 210m stretch of the River Blackwater prior to the redevelopment of the Navan Carpet factory site, located on the southern side of the river. The development is expected to have a minimal impact on the existing riverbank/riverbed, although extensive landscaping is expected to take place adjacent to the river. Visual inspection and magnetometry survey by hand-held metal detection of the riverbed and southern bank structure did not reveal any archaeologically significant material/features.
