Archaeological assessment took place of a 40m stretch of the River Nanny prior to the construction of a new pedestrian footbridge. The structure is to be placed c. 20m downstream from the existing Dublin–Belfast railway bridge. Systematic visual inspection and magnetometer survey was undertaken along a 70m stretch of the river. No archaeologically significant material was encountered within the survey area.
