Trial-trenching was carried out in advance of a proposed residential and commercial development. Prior to the assessment a number of derelict buildings, the courthouse, ancillary sheds and a handball alley were demolished and the site was cleared to ground level. Five test-trenches were excavated. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified.
