Monitoring took place in June 2005 during groundworks for an extension to a cottage in the vicinity of a ringfort. The entry in the Archaeological Inventory of County Meath, based on a site inspection of the ringfort in 1969, describes a raised semicircular area defined by a scarp, with traces of the bank and remains of a possible hut site in the centre. The ringfort has evidently been reclaimed some time between 1969 and the present, as the site is now a smooth grassy knoll and none of these features are evident. However, it is likely that archaeological material survives undisturbed below present ground level. No archaeological deposits were revealed during excavations for foundation trenches and the percolation area.
A possible cairn was noted c. 30m south of the development site and the ringfort. This appears to consist of a circular mound, c.14m in diameter and 1m high, of grass-covered stones rather than bedrock.
