Monitoring, requested as a result of a planning condition by An Bord Pleanála, was carried out from 20 January to 15 February 2005 on behalf of Sisk Ireland for Dunne’s Stores. The concrete ground surface (c. 0.4m deep) and the 20th-century granary were demolished and removed from the site in advance of bulk excavation. The ground was excavated to a depth of 3m across the site and was heavily truncated by the 20th-century granary at the site. No features of archaeological significance were identified during monitoring.
