This site at Killacorraun, Crossmolina, lay on the line of the Mayo–Galway gas pipeline and was considered of significance due to its proximity to SMR 38:151, an unidentified mound. An area measuring 140m by 50m was tested using machine-excavated trenches and no features or deposits of archaeological significance were noted. A total of 486m of trenches were excavated.
