Monitoring was carried out at a development site in the townland of Claremount, Claremorris, Co. Mayo, in January 2005. A platform earthwork was located at the southern end of the field and will be directly impacted by the development. The earthwork is late 18th/early 19th-century in date and is likely to be a demesne monument associated with nearby Claremount House. An enclosure (SMR 101:22) is listed in the next field to the east. No features or material of an archaeological nature were identified.
