Monitoring was carried out at the site of a proposed residential development on the Dublin Road, Drogheda. This site is located south of and outside the zone of archaeological potential for Drogheda. It consists of three large fields, bounded to the east and south by existing roadways and to the west by a field boundary. Monitoring of all topsoil-stripping was carried out in two of these fields. Work will commence within the third field in 2006. Two isolated small pit features were identified and subsequently excavated within Field 2. No additional features or finds of archaeological significance were identified.
