Testing (as part of an assessment) was undertaken in advance of the construction of a house at Knockanes, Adare. The site lay within the zone of archaeological potential for a probable ringfort. Four trenches were excavated within the footprint of the development, measuring 20m to 25m in length by 1.5m, all of which showed the topsoil resting on the natural parent material. Nothing of an archaeological nature was found.
