Test-trenching was carried out in advance of the construction of a house, garage and associated works at Carrigogunnell, Clarina. The site is near the zone of archaeological potential for Carrigogunnell Castle. Seven trenches were excavated across the proposed development site. The trenches varied between 10m and 40m in length and were 1m wide. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted during the testing.
