Testing was undertaken at the site of a telecommunications compound to accommodate an antenna, satellite dishes and monopole, and access road at Ballynamona, Hospital. Located c. 8m from the nearest point of the development site there was an enclosure.
Four test-trenches were opened on the site of the access road, which was the nearest part to the monument. Two linear ditches were uncovered in one of the trenches. However, it was considered that they were not related to the monument but were more likely to be associated with the two slight linear depressions on the ground surface and were of a non-archaeological nature.
