The site of the proposed development of 27 houses and 30 apartments is located at Tullylannan townland on the south-eastern outskirts of Leitrim village. The Leitrim canal borders the site to the north running north-east/south-west. A third-class road running east–west borders the site to the south, providing access. The Roman Catholic church borders the site to the south-west. The site is located near a castle site. Nine test-trenches were excavated across the site of the proposed development, with no evidence of archaeological activity revealed.
