Topsoil monitoring was undertaken ahead of the construction of a housing development on a greenfield site at the eastern end of Dromahair village, Co. Leitrim. The site consists of a drumlin ridge running north-east/south-west dropping steeply to the narrow flood-plain of the river. The development entails extensive ground disturbance, including access roads, service trenches and extensive groundworks to deal with the sloping nature of the site. An old disused track runs diagonally across the site from south-west to north-east. Monitoring of the development revealed nothing of archaeological significance apart from a series of modern features and features related to recent agricultural activity.
