Testing was undertaken at Church Street, Carrigallen, as part of granted planning permission to build a house and undertake associated site works. The development site was on the opposite side of the public road from, and c. 30m south-east of, a ruined church. Two trenches were opened on the site. No archaeological remains were uncovered in the course of testing works that could in any way be associated with the nearby ruined church.
