A deposit of charcoal and heat-shattered stone along the route of the proposed N9/N10 Kilcullen–
Waterford scheme: Contract 3, Prumplestown to Powerstown, probably represents the remains of a burnt mound or fulacht fiadh. Part of it seemed to extend beyond the road corridor but it measured c. 17m by 19m and had a depth of 0.15m. The material had been severely disturbed by ploughing and other modern agricultural activity. No trough was identified.
