A roughly rectangular feature, possibly cut by a furrow, was identified during testing along the route of the proposed N9/N10 Kilcullen–Waterford scheme: Contract 3, Prumplestown to Powerstown. On the surface two abutting fills could be seen; one of these was brown topsoil-like material, which may have represented a furrow post-dating the feature. The cut had straight sides and an uneven base. Although the feature had been truncated and was only partially exposed in the trench, it seemed to measure c. 0.6m wide and had a depth of 0.33m. The fill was black charcoal-stained sandy clay with fine ashy charcoal inclusions. Fragments of burnt bone and possible prehistoric pottery were recovered from the fill.
