Testing took place at the site of a proposed single house at Walterstown, Nurney. There are two monuments in the immediate environs of the proposed development: SMR 27:39 is to the immediate west and 27:40 is to the immediate south. Both monuments are described in the Record of Monuments and Places for County Kildare as being of ‘aerial photographic potential’.

Six trenches were excavated in the area of the proposed house. No features or artefacts of archaeological interest were uncovered during the course of the testing. In addition to the testing, the sides of a number of geotechnical test-pits were also inspected but nothing of interest was noted.
