Testing was undertaken in advance of the construction of an office/store situated to the rear of No. 1 Highland View Terrace, Kilcullen Road, Naas, on 4 April 2005. The site is located within the zone of archaeological potential of Naas, being situated in the environs of the Fair Green. This was located outside, and to the south of, the medieval town.
Three trenches were machine-excavated within the confines of the proposed development area. The testing revealed a 0.24m layer of topsoil overlying undisturbed gravel subsoil. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered.
