Kildare County Council granted planning permission to build twelve housing units with associated site works at this site west of Robertstown village. Condition 3 required monitoring during topsoil-stripping associated with the development, as the western boundary of the development site is located 300m east of SMR 13:24, an ‘Enclosure site’ in Lowtown townland.
Monitoring was carried out during excavation for a water mains pipeline along the public road. This runs eastwards from the development site towards Robertstown, where it links in with an existing system. Nothing of archaeological interest was exposed during monitoring.
