Five test-trenches were excavated as part of an assessment carried out on a proposed development site. The stratigraphy comprised 0.4–0.9m of topsoil overlying natural subsoil. Two field drains and a small area of charcoal-stained soil (0.9m by 0.5m) were uncovered. One of the drains was of stone construction and was 0.5m wide and 0.4m deep.
