Five test-trenches were machine-excavated on a site which was in the environs of an enclosure, a hut site, field walls and a children’s burial ground. Topsoil was removed to a depth of c. 0.2–0.4m to reveal subsoil consisting of orangey-brown silty clay with large stones and rocks throughout. No archaeological finds or features were noted in the trenches.
