Investigations were carried out at a site close to the area of archaeological potential of the site of Moycullen Castle on 26 October 2005. A desk study, fieldwork and test-trenching complemented by an aerial survey revealed no evidence that the proposed development will interfere with any of the known surface features visible within the site environs. Testing revealed that the excavations for foundations and for the sewage treatment plant will not impact on subsurface remains. No material or features of archaeological value was uncovered during the test excavations.
