The proposed development at Dunkellin Street, Loughrea, involved the demolition of a number of buildings and the construction of shop units and apartments. Pre-development testing was carried out prior to the commencement of construction works. Seven trenches were mechanically excavated. The stratigraphy encountered in the trenches revealed no features/artefacts of archaeological significance.
