This site at Kilshanvy, Kilconia, lay on the line of the Mayo–Galway gas pipeline and was considered of significance due to its proximity to standing stones identified during the EIS. An area measuring 200m by 30m was tested using machine-excavated trenches; no features or deposits of archaeological significance were noted. A total of 518m of trenches was excavated.
