Testing here was primarily concerned with the locating and identifying of a possible linear feature indicated through geophysical survey by ArchaeoPhysica. Nothing of an archaeological nature was discovered during testing. No further work is proposed at the site.
The work was commissioned by Galway County Council National Roads Design Office and sponsored by the National Roads Authority. RPS-MCOS Ltd acted as principal consultants for the scheme.
