This was identified as a site containing one relict boundary wall, plough furrows, two linear ditches, one possible bank, a boundary ditch and three small pit features. Two of the ditch features, together with the bank and one pit feature, were considered to be of possible archaeological interest. The remaining pit features, the boundary ditch and the plough furrows were all interpreted as natural anomalies or features related to agricultural activity and not considered of archaeological significance. Possible archaeological features were fully excavated during the testing phase of works.
The work was commissioned by Galway County Council National Roads Design Office and sponsored by the National Roads Authority.
