Testing was carried out to the rear of the Old Borough School on 24 February 2005, where it is proposed to construct a licensed restaurant and public house. The site lies within the zone of archaeological potential for the historic town of Swords, SMR 11:34. The Old Borough School is a protected structure. Two trenches were excavated. No features of archaeological significance were encountered.
