An assessment was carried out in advance of the planned M50 upgrade. Testing Area 18 was located in the townland of Murphystown. This site was not assessed, as it is contained within a section of the M50 which is currently under construction and is being utilised for storing spoil. Upon inspection it was evident that a portion of Testing Area 18 had already been disturbed during construction works and the remainder is considered to have a low archaeological potential. No further archaeological works are considered necessary in this testing area.
