The proposed development area is located outside the zone of archaeological constraint for Dublin city (SMR 18:20). A desk-based assessment and site inspection identified eight sites of significance within a study area of 200m diameter centred on the development area. These sites relate to the more recent industrial heritage of Dublin.
Test-trenching was undertaken in advance of development and no evidence of archaeological features or deposits were noted. However, the extent of the trenching was constrained by the nature of the site and it is recommended that monitoring of groundworks be undertaken during the course of development.
